From the page: "Conservationists have tried a variety of methods to get the tortoise to mate, including artificial insemination, manual stimulation and having George watch younger males mate..."
And who had that job?

From the page: "Last week, it was revealed that an Environmental Protection Agency office had lowered its official estimate of life's value, from about $8.04 million to about $7.22 million. That decision has put a spotlight on the concept of the "Value of a Statistical Life," in which the bureaucracy in D.C. takes on a question usually left to preachers and poets."
I wasn't sure whether to thumb this up or down. Regardless of my inherent "value," can I have mine now?

From the page: "Indigenous people of the Americas have always harbored prophecies and dreams that, after a long wintertime of suffering and degredation, they would awaken to a new century of light, a period of renewal for Indigenous people and that as Indigenous people rediscover their own strenths and greatness bestowed upon them by the creator, and recover the health and prosperity of their nations, they will impact the whole world.
United Indians of All Tribes Foundation (UIATF) was founded to serve as a focal point for this renewal and regeneration in the Greater Seattle area and beyond. "

Gabriel Herrera, 4, wipes his brow as he pauses in the Grand Entry parade for the 2008 Seafair Indian Days Pow-Wow presented by the United Indians of All Tribes Foundation at Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center in Discovery Park, Seattle. It's a little difficult for a young guy to remember what he has to do. He is a Colville-Tlinget, lives in Auburn, and his parents are Katrina and Angelo Herrera. His bustle was made by his grandfather, Michael Rounds, of Elmer City, WA, and his outfit was designed by his aunt, Ramona Rounds. The Pow-Wow runs through Sunday and the top prize for adult men is $4,000.

From the page: "Unlike many Washington state attractions, the word "majestic" does not apply to the slopes and swales of the Mima Mounds Natural Area Preserve. But walk amid the mounds, and you will be struck by how their subtle uniformity adds up to an otherworldly power."

How many thumbs up can I give this? Thanks Megsu!
